After extended restrictions on international travel due to the pandemic, the situation seems to move towards normality, restarting the transport sector.
Anticipating this recovery, Delta Air Lines has already launched an expansion operation of its Sky Clubs, exclusive lounges where the members can relax and enjoy a range of quality services before a flight or between two stopovers.
SICIS, with its strong presence on US soil thanks to a showroom and storage location in New York, has contributed with its products to make the new Delta Sky Clubs even more exclusive.
The first collaborations have been developed for the Detroit Metro Airport, Michigan and the Fort Lauderdale International Airport, Florida. Here, SICIS has supplied artistic mosaics for the floors, pixel mosaic and Vetrite slabs for the bar counters.
In April 2022, a brand new Delta Sky Club was inaugurated at Los Angeles International Airport, which boasts an area of 2,700 square metres divided into various areas dedicated to catering, relaxation or work. Everything has been designed to create a unique experience, starting from the Coffee Grotto, a refined corner that recalls the Hollywood style of the 50s-60s dominated by an extraordinary floral artistic mosaic, realized in the SICIS Ravenna laboratories. Wow-effect also in the bathrooms, where we find eight spacious shower stalls decorated with Vetrite Gem Glass panes, the innovative product patented by SICIS that is seeing an increasing development in various design and architecture sectors.
Finally, the most recent opening is the one that took place last June in Terminal C of LaGuardia Airport in New York. The space, of almost 3,000 square metres, makes it the largest Sky Club in the network. The style and details evoke the New York of the early 20th century: warm and golden colours, harlequin motifs and artistic works made with various techniques. One of these, a view of the New York skyline with the Brooklyn Bridge, was precisely created by SICIS in glass mosaic with pixel technique. By SICIS also the polychrome marble floor, the columns and the bar counter covered with Vetrite slabs.
The collaboration between SICIS and Delta is not going to stop. The Sky Club expansion plan continues and again will involve the use of mosaics and Vetrite.
